After several weeks in lockdown, we return with the tastings, in this opportunity wines from South Africa and Australia. We start with the varieties Pinotage, Pinot Noir,Syrah, continuing with Cabernet Sauvignon and ending the blend wines.

Although each country has its own identity, wines of South Africa are fresh, with floral notes, hues of sweetness and wood. On the other hand, the wines of Australia have more presence of red fruits with noted oh smoked ham, complex flavors and attractive tannins.

The white wines were tasted the day after, in this occasion were 7 bottles, predominantly citric notes and tropical fruits in South Africa, meanwhile the white wines from Australia are more mineral.

In both continents we highlight the attractive packaging, especially the labels design, some of them with the country identity, and others very traditional.

Thanks to our professional team that accompanied us, we have made a review and rating of each bottle, as we used to do in all the tastings.

We thank the participating wineries and we hope to have the selected wines soon in our portfolio and social networks.

On this occasion, we finished the “1st ZW Tasting Meeting”, with the last samples received from France.

We started with the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Rosé varieties to continue with the red wines Pinot noir, Syrah - Merlot blend, Cabernet Franc and a Malbec variety. In the first instance we found notes which reflected a deep and interesting French identity, more in the white glasses than the red ones, however, our focus was given by those glasses more natural and not so far from the Chilean palate; Between a pleasant acidity accompanied by floral and/or fruity notes in the white wines, and ham/meat notes and/or fruity with a pleasant persistence in the red wines. That is one of the parameters that winemakers and consumers choose in Zircon Wines tastings to deliver a good selection to your table.

As in the previous stages, the bottles captivated us with their elegant French labels, with special notes on the nose, and an interesting taste on the palate. In this instance, Zircon Wines obtains the indicated selection to introduce in the Chilean market.

Continuing with the wine tasting from France, we had the pleasure of taste 14 different wines, the order of the varieties were Sauvignon blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Semillon, Sauvignon blanc Semillon and Moscatel. During this tasting, the range of aromas and flavours on the palate was more diverse than the red wines. Even though we had to postpone the Chardonnay tasting, we obtained similar opinions in those wines with elegant aromas and balance, as well with a medium and persistent acidity, in contrast we found few wines that are not within the reach of the traditional taste in Chile.

In conclusion, the bottles captivated us with their labels, reflecting quality, experience and French elegance, a legacy of their tradition. Therefore, our proposal was successful in finding those wines that shows the same sensation on the nose and in the palate. Given the above, there are three wines to undertake the dream of landing in Chile.

In this opportunity we had the pleasure to taste wines from different French Wineries, the tasting was different varieties/blend of wines: Merlot, Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc. The selection method was comparing Chilean wines with the French wines with similar characteristics, then each participant filled a tasting form per wine and finally we reviewed the ranking that each participant made choosing the selected wines. After tasting fifteen wines and discussing all of them based on the packaging, awards, tasting notes, we have finally finished the meeting with a great consensus.

In general, France has captivated us with the identity and distinguished tasting notes with their attractive rubi red colour, notes of red fruit and long persistence with balanced acidity, most overcome our expectatives. Therefore, 5 brands were pre-selectioned for our wine portfolio!
